Securities with the Highest and Lowest Lifetime Correlation with the Long Terms
Last month's "What's Working Now" featured securities that have had a high correlation with the Long Terms during their trading history.
Five of these seven securities (i.e., 71%) experienced a change in trend around the August 28, 2018 Long Terms Turn Date.
On average securities in this population increased approximately 2.5% in the 11 days leading up to the August 28 Turn Date, and they declined approximately the same amount in the subsequent 11 days after the Turn Date.
Based on this analysis, for certain currencies the August 28 Long Terms Turn Date largely failed to result in a change in trend.
However, for several of the most actively traded securities the August 28 Turn Date did correspond to a change in trend, and certain securities with a high historical correlation with the Long Terms also largely experienced a change in trend.
